Why should a guild join the Federation?

Local guilds can reap several benefits from joining the International Federation of Leather Guilds (IFOLG).

Firstly, membership provides access to a vast network of fellow leatherworking enthusiasts, artisans, and experts from around the world, fostering opportunities for collaboration, knowledge sharing, and skill development.

The IFOLG organizes workshops, seminars, and conferences where guild members can learn new techniques, exchange ideas, and stay updated on industry trends.

Additionally, being part of the federation offers exposure and recognition on an international scale, enhancing the visibility and credibility of local guilds within the global leatherworking community. Furthermore, through the IFOLG, guilds can participate in competitions, exhibitions, and cultural exchanges, showcasing their craftsmanship and promoting their local traditions to a wider audience.

Lastly, membership in the IFOLG grants access to resources, publications, and educational materials tailored to support the growth and sustainability of local guilds, empowering them to thrive and excel in their craft.

The IFOLG is the only organization in the world that has the expertise to evaluate and determine the skill level of a Leatherworker at the annual IFOLG competition.  Each Leatherworker's submitted entries are judged by a team of his or her peers in the respective Open, Advanced, Master or Grand Master class categories.
